Transatlantic Day 10

We’re finally in the tradewinds now. After many days of limping along in sporadic winds., hoping to make just 120 miles per day, we’ve finally hit the tradewinds and it is a ride. Winds are a steady 15-20 knots and the waves are a slightly, uncomfortable 2-3 meter height. This morning I checked our logs and saw that we sailed 155 miles in 24 hours. At this rate we’ll be in Barbados on the 9th.

We had our first rain today. Our water supply is pretty constrained since we lost the port tank. The crew and I took the opportunity for a sun shower. About half way through and just after lathering the rain stopped. And then it rained a lot more about 5 minutes later. Such is the way of tropical downpours.
